Crafting times and resources are going to be exactly the
same as the data found in the PTP section. The reason for this is that
making leather armour out of cow hides is the best method even though it
costs money.
Important: Even though
the times and resources are the same as PTP its very important to remember
that to raise the money for such resources on FTP is going to take
considerably longer than the time on PTP. This is for many reasons but on
PTP it is far easier to generate cash. Its best paid skill pays almost 950K
an hour plus there are far more merchanting opportunities and better monster
drops.
Method
Levelling crafting efficiently is
going to cost you a lot of money. Ignore the slower levelling systems like
pottery etc. As they are a VERY BAD way of combining skills together.
One of the most common ways to level
crafting is technically a power levelling strategy but it is given the
'efficient' tag due to the amount of time it ultimately saves you compared
to its average cost. The method used for this guide is making cow hides
into leather armour. All hides must be bought along with thread.
All levelling to take place at Al
Karid. In your inventory should be enough coins to pay the tanner for your
hides, sufficient thread for your hides in the bank and a needle. The
levelling system is as follows:
Bank at Al Karid
Withdraw 25 cow hides
Run north to the tannery
Convert all hides into tanned leather (soft first then hard after level 28)
Use needle and thread on them to make leather armour
Run south back to the bank, bank all leathers.
Repeat
1-28
Simply make the highest level piece of armour you can as early as
possible for maximum XP.

28-99 Hard leather bodies
At 28 you will be able to make hard leather bodies. Crating these can
be hard work as it is a lot of clicking BUT it yields far more experience
than what you were making before.
The XP per hour on hard leather bodies is over 52kxp per hour.
