Starting point:
Talk to Horacio in East Ardougne in the Handelmort Mansion
garden
Items needed: Armour, food,
machete, plant pot with soil in it, pot, secateurs, soft
clay, spade, trowel, a weapon and a woodcutting axe.
Recommended items: Anti poison
pots, Ardougne tele runes, Ring of Charos and Shilo gloves.
Requirements: 72 woodcutting,
53 farming, 59 slayer, and 53 agility. Must have completed
One Small Favour,
Tribal Totem,
The Hand in the Sand and
A Fairy Tale Part 1

Walkthrough: 1. Talk to
Horacio in the mansion grounds just west of Ardougne market. Ask
him who he is and if he needs any help.
2. Speak to Wizard Comperty just north-east of the market
square. Next go south and talk to an R.P.D.T employee. "open"
the smelly package on the table then Talk to Wizard Comperty
again.
3. Make a pot lid with soft clay and then talk to the wizard
again.
4. Take the boat from Ardougne to Brimhaven and talk to Garth by
the tree farming patch. Make sure you have the following items:
a) A spade
b) An empty pot
c) The pot lid that you made
d) A plantpot with soil in it
e) A machete
f) A woodcutting axe
g) Secateurs
When you have all these, make your way to Shilo village (Shilo
gloves very useful here).
5. Use the bank at Shilo to prepare for the upcoming maze.
Armour, food and anti poison are highly recommended. Make sure
you have all the other items then exit Shilo. Head around to the
north side and follow the fence east till you see some enormous
vines.
6. Follow these directions:
a) Climb up onto vine
b) Head east and climb up
c) Head east then south and climb down
d) Head west and climb down off the vine.
e) Equip machete, head south and cut the vines
f) Crawl through the cut vines
g) Head south and squeeze through the vines
h) Head south-west and Climb up onto the vine
i) Head south and climb up
j) Head south and climb up to where the eagle is
k) Head east past the eagle and climb down
l) "swing" on the vine to the north-east (this is well hidden).
m) Head North and climb down
n) Head east then south and climb down off the vine
o) Cut the vines to the south and crawl through
p) Head south and Squeeze through vines
q) Climb up onto the vine to the south-east
r) Go east and climb up vine
s) Head east and cross vine bridge
t) Head east and climb down vine
u) Head north then east and climb down off the vine to the south
v) Cut the vines to the south then crawl through
w) Climb up onto the vine to the east
x) Go south then west and climb up
y) Head west and climb down
z) Head north and climb up
z1) Head west and cross the vine bridge
z2) Head west, south then east and climb down
z3) Go south and climb down off the vine
z4) Dig the loose soil and take a root cutting.
*If you fall off the vine at any point you must "enter" the hole
and then re-enter the maze to try again.*
7. Use the cut root with your pot of soil. This can fail - if it
does then cut another and try again (there are several soil
spots for you to use here).
8. Once the root has taken successfully, use it with your pot
and it becomes sealed in there.
9. Go back To Horacio in Ardougne and talk to him, he asks you
to grow it for him. Use the pot with cutting in with the jade
farming patch and a wild jade grows. Head to a bank and prepare
for a fight. You will need lots of food, armour, superset,
anti-poisons and a woodcutting axe (wield this).
10. When you're ready, "attack" the Wild Jade Vine (167).
Protect against melee works fine. When the fight is over "cut"
the wild jade vine stump. Talk to Horacio again and it's quest
complete!
Reward: 24k Farming XP, 40k
woodcutting XP, 23k slayer XP, 15k agility XP, A new vine
farming patch and a Jade Vine seed.
QP reward: 1
Note: Completing the quest also
opens up a new mini-game. Plant your Jade Vine Seed in the
farming patch to the west of Horacio to start.
