Big Chompy Bird Hunting
Starting point:
Speak to the ogre Rantz who lives east of the ogre city,
north of the swamp pool.
Items needed: Armour, Chisel,
100 feathers, knife, WC axe and a weapon.
Requirements: Level 5
fletching, 30 cooking and 30 ranged. |

Walkthrough: This quest is
extremely annoying so I'll make the walkthrough as simple as
possible just so you can get it over with.
1. Talk to Rantz and quickly click through the various options.
Don't bother reading any of it unless you fancy a migraine.
2. Just south west of Rantz are some achey trees. Cut yourself 5
logs. Now go a little further south west and kill some of the
wolves. Use a chisel on their bones to make at least 10 wolfbane
arrow tips. Then use your knife on the achey logs add feathers
and then the arrow tips to make at least 10 ogre arrows.
4. Go back to Rantz and ask him all the questions. Then go north
of him into the cave. To the north west of the cave is a chest.
Open and search it for the bellows. Leave and go south west to
the small swamp.
5. Use the bellows with the swamp bubbles then use the bellows
on the toads to capture 3 of them. Go back to Rantz and an arrow
will come up on the mini map of where to drop (not release) a
toad for him. Drop it on the spot and Rantz will shoot and miss
it. Keep talking to him until he gives you the ogre bow.
6. Equip the ogre arrows and drop all your fat toads in the same
spot that Rantz showed you. A Chompy will appear which you
should shoot, pluck and put in your inventory. Talk to Rantz
again.
7. Go north of Rantz again to the cave and the children will
tell you what seasoning they like. All the seasoning items can
be found in the local vicinity. Here is what you can be asked
for and where to find them:
Cabbage: West of the swamp, or to the north on the coast
Doogle leaf: Further west than the tomato
Equa leaf: Just south of the potatoes
Onion: west of the swamp
Potato: South east of Rantz
Tomato: West of the swamp on the stool
8. Make sure you have the 3 seasoning items that Rantz and the 2
kids want. Go just north of Rantz and use the raw chompy with
the spit. Talk to Rantz again and its quest complete. Never to
be seen again - hooray!
Reward: 262 fletching xp, 1470
cooking xp, 735 ranged xp, ogre bow and the ability to make ogre
arrows (both weapon and ammo are pretty much useless)
