Elemental Workshop II
Starting point:
Read a book at the digsite exam centre.
Items needed: Battered key, 2
elemental bars (2 elemental ores and 8 coal), hammer and a
pickaxe.
Recommended items: Tele runes
Requirements: 20 magic, 30
smithing and must have completed Elemental Workshop I quest. |

Walkthrough:

1. Head to the Digsite exam centre south east of Varrock. Search
the bookcases in the south east corner until you get the beaten
book. Read this and then read the scroll to get a strange code.

2. Go to the smithy just west of Seers village bank. Go through
the odd looking wall using the battered key and go down the
stairs.
3. Go into the north room and "search machinery" to get a key.

Now go back to the middle of the central room and open the
hatch. Climb down the hatch. You will now be in a new workshop
which has an upper walkway you can access.
4. Head to the south side of the room (crane side) and take
crane schematic and lever schematic from the scematic crate.

5. Read the schematics and search all the rest of the crates in
the room. When done, go up the stairs onto the walkway and
search the crates up there as well.

You are looking for a pipe and 3 cogs (small medium and large).
Stop searching when you find all 4 items.
PRESS 6. Stay up on the upper walkway and to to the west side.
Open the junction box and attach the pipes as they are in this
following picture:

Connect:
Top left to bottom right
Top middle to top right
Bottom left to bottom middle
7. TANK - Go to the north side of the walkway and use the pipe
you found with the broken one.

8. WIND TUNNEL - Climb down from the walkway and go to the east
side of the room. On the side of the wind tunnel are 3 pins. Use
your 3 cogs with the pins like this:

Small cog - top left pin
medium cog - bottom left pin
large cog - right pin
Now pull the old lever and the fan starts to blow.
9. CRANE - Climb up the stairs in the middle of the room back
into the room with the anvils. Use an elemental bar on an anvil
to make an elemental claw and climb back down the hatch. Go
south to towards the crane and pull the lever next to the
schematic crate. Now use your crane claw with the old crane to
repair it, then pull the same lever to raise it.

10. Place an elemental Bar on the Jig cart underneath the claw.
Follow these instructions for the 2 levers by the crane:

a) Pull the west lever twice
b) pull the east lever once
c) pull the west lever twice
d) pull the east lever once
e) pull the west lever twice
You should now have a glowing hot bar on the jig cart.
11. Pull the lever just north of the crane to send the jig cart
down the track

12. Pull the lever on the west side of the room (by the 3 pipes)
to flatten the bar.
13. Go back and pull the central lever to move the cart down the
tack. (the central lever is the one by the yellow cart sign).
14. You must now use the controls to get the hot bar in the
tank, fill it up with water then get the bar out again. Follow
these instructions:

a) Pull lever (opens door)
b) Turn corkscrew lever twice (puts bar in tank)
c) Pull lever (closes door)
d) Turn western water valve (floods tank)
e) Turn eastern water valve (starts to empty tank)
f) Turn western water valve (empties tank)
g) Pull lever (opens door)
h) Turn corkscrew lever twice (drops cool bar on the track)
i) Pull lever (closes door)
15. Pull the lever in the centre of the room to move the jig +
cool bar round to the wind tunnel.
16. Start and then stop the wind tunnel by pulling the lever
next to it (blue bar will turn white).

17. Pull the central lever to move the jig round to the crane
(where it started)
18. "Take" from the jig cart to get the primed bar.
19. Go to the northeast corner of the room and climb down the
stairwell. Head through the east door.

20. Use the primed bar with the extractor gun then "operate" the
extractor hat. Take the elemental mind bar from the extractor
gun and then go up 2 flights of stairs to the first workshop
(with the anvils in). Use the elemental mind bar with an anvil
to make a mind helmet and its quest complete!
Reward: Elemental helmet, 7500 smithing
XP, 7500 crafting XP and the ability to make and equip elemental
mind equipment.
QP reward: 2
Note: The mind helmet gives +6 in
magic defence.
Note: You can use the same method
in this quest to make a mind shield which gives slightly more
defence than an elemental one.
