Forgettable Tale...

Starting point: Talk to Veldaban, commander of the Black Guard in Keldagrim.

Items needed: 2 barley malt, beer glass, 2 buckets of water, 1K coins, rake, and a seed dibber.

Recommended items: Falador teleport runes

Requirements: Level 17 farming, level 22 cooking. Must have completed The Giant Dwarf and Fishing Contest quests.

Walkthrough:

1. Talk to Commander Veldaban in the west side of Keldagrim. Tell him you're interested in helping out and accept the job.

A cut scene follows, at the end of which you are taken to the drunken dwarf's house. Enter this and speak to the drunken dwarf about the red axe.

2. Go south and buy a beer off the barmaid in the pub. Take this back to the drunken dwarf who gives you a Kelda seed.

3. You now need 3 more Kelda seeds. Go south of the drunken dwarf and talk to the rowdy dwarf who is walking round the pub. Get him the random item he asks for and he gives you the 2nd Kelda seed.

4. Head to the west side of Keldagrim and enter the bar. Talk to Gauss then buy a beer from the barman. Talk to Gauss again and he gives you the 3rd seed.

5. Head to the south east of Keldagrim. Talk to the Cart conductor and buy a ticket to white wolf mountain for 100gp.

Ride the cart and enter the pub at the other end. Talk to Khorvak the dwarven engineer ask to borrow the seed.

6. Take the mine cart back to Keldagrim and go to the west side of the town. Go to the hops patch and talk to Rind the gardener. Now Use your rake with the patch and then plant your Kelda seeds on the patch.

[optional] While you wait for the hops to grow you can do a job for Rind. Talk to him and he gives you a letter. Go to the farming allotment south of Falador and talk to Elstan to give him the letter. Go back to Rind and he rewards you with 2 marrentill seeds.

7. Wait for the hops to grow (takes 10-15 mins) then head to the east side of Keldagrim. Enter the pub and go upstairs into the brewery, take the pot from the table. Now talk to Blandebir and buy some yeast from him for 25gp.

Now do the following:

a) Use 2 buckets of water with the fermenting vat.
b) Use 2 barley malt with the fermenting vat.
c) Use Kelda hops with the fermenting vat.
d) Use the pot of ale yeast with the fermenting vat.
e) wait 10 minutes for the contents to ferment.

8. Trun the valve between the vat and the barrel then use a beer glass with the barrel to get a Kelda Stout. Take this to the drunken dwarf.

9. Head as far south as you can go and talk to the cart conductor. Ask him about the closed off tunnel. Next head north-west and talk to the director of the mining company you joined during the Giant Dwarf Quest.

Ask about the boarded up tunnel then go back south and ride the cart into the new cave.

DONT LOG OUT NOW UNTIL YOU GET TO STEP 21 OR YOU WILL HAVE TO START AGAIN AT THE BEGINNING.

10. Search the box to get a green and a yellow stone. Must now use the dwarven machinery to set the points for the mine cart.

11. Operate the Dwarven machinery click on the points to make them look like this:

Ride the cart and search the box to get another green stone then ride the cart back to the start.

12. Use the controls and set them to look like this:

Ride the cart and search the box for a yellow stone. Ride the cart back to the start.

13. Use the controls and set them to look like this:

14. Crawl east to the cave entrance on the other side. You end up in another chasm. Search the box to get 2 yellow stones and 1 green then set the controls to look like this:

Ride the cart and search the box to get a green stone and ride the cart back.

15. Set the controls to look like this:

Ride the cart, search the box for another green stone and ride back.

16. Set the controls to look like this:

Then ride the cart into a room full of bookcases and crates.

17. Search a bookcase and read the employee records you find.

Next search the crate in the middle of the room with the papers on top. Read the letter from Colonel Grimsson there. Now search the crate with papers on it to the east side of the room to find a report. Leave the room via the cave entrance to the east.

18 you find yourself in a 3rd chasm. Search the box to get 2 yellow and 2 green stones then set the controls to look like this:

Ride the cart, search the box for a green stone then return to the start.

19. Set the controls to look like this:

Ride the cart, search the boxes for another green and another yellow stone. Return to start. (should now have 4 of each stone)

20. Set the controls to look like this:

Ride the cart and a cut scene follows. After its over you end up in Keldagrim.

21. Speak with Veldaban in the west side of the town. Now go back to the east side of the town and buy a kebab in the kebab shop and buy a beer in the pub. While standing in the pub, consume either the beer or kebab, a cut scene follows and it's quest complete!

 

Reward: 5000 farming XP, 5000 cooking XP and 2 mature Dwarven stouts.

QP reward: 2


Note: The mature Dwarven stouts raise both your mining and smithing by 2 levels temporarily.
