Shield of Arrav
Starting point:
Talk to either the tramp in south Varrock opposite the Blue
Moon Inn or Reldo the librarian in Varrock Castle library.

Walkthrough: To complete this
quest you will need to do it with a friend. One of you must
choose the Blackarm gang and the other the Phoenix gang. In
reality there is very little difference between the two.
1. Go to Varrock Palace library and speak with Reldo. This done,
search the library bookcases for a book called The Shield of
Arrav. Talk to Reldo again and he will instruct you to go and
talk to Baraek who is located in the northeast corner of Varrock
marketplace. You and your friend must now choose which gang you
wish to join.
Phoenix
1. Talk to Baraek about the Phoenix gang then go and visit their
hideout. It is located close to the south wall of Varrcok and
marked with a large "!" sign on the minimap.
2. Talk to Straven. You can join the phoenix gang if you kill
Jonny the Beard. Go to the Blue Moon Inn and kill him (some
patience is needed as he moves around a lot and other players
may be trying to kill him too. If they do then you just need to
wait a minute for him to respawn). When he dies he drops a
report. Take this back to Straven.
3. Straven gives you a key to the hideout. Go through the door
and search the chest to get your half of the shield. When
retrieved you should drop this and get another one then pick up
the one you dropped so you now have 2 of the same half.
Blackarm
1. Speak to the tramp opposite the Blue Moon Inn. Ask him about
the Blackarm gang and go down the alleyway. Speak to Katrine
about joining the gang and she will give you a small mission of
stealing 2 phoenix crossbows from the phoenix gang store.
2. Get the friend doing the quest with you to give you the key
to the phoenix armour room. Take the key and go a little east of
the main phoenix hideout. Enter the door and go upstairs. At
this point you will be attacked by a level 22 Phoenix master of
arms. Once defeated, pick up 2 crossbows and take them back to
Katrine.
3. Go into the room just north of Katrine and search the
cupboard to claim the other half of the shield. Drop your half
and take another one. Pick up the one you dropped so you now
have 2.
End of the quest
Meet up with your friend and trade shield halves so you both now
have a full shield. Take these to the Museum in north Varrock
(east of the castle) and show them to the curator. He will give
you scrolls for them which you should take to king Roald to
claim your quest reward. Quest complete!
