The Eyes of Glouphrie
Starting point:
Talk to Brimstail in his cave in the Gnome Stronhold.
Items needed: Bucket, hammer,
knife, maple log, mud rune, oak log, pestle and mortar, saw
and a woodcutting axe.
Recommended items: Teleport runes
Requirements: Must have
completed The Grand Tree
quest. Must have 46 magic and level 5 construction. It's
advantageous to have level 13 runecrafting and 45
woodcutting. |

Walkthrough:
1. Get all the items you need for the quest in your inventory
then enter the cave to the south-west of the Gnome Stronghold
and talk to Brimstail. Listen to Brimstail waffle on for some
time then agree to help him.
2. Enter the next room to the west and inspect the singing bowl
then try to unlock the machine to the north of the bowl and head
back to Brimstail. Agree to help him.
3. Go to Hazelmere's house, east of Yanville.
Talk to him and he tells you about the warring goblin and gnome
armies. Keep talking to him and watch 4 cut scenes. When it's
over he gives you a violet pentagon.
4. Head back to Brimstail in his cave and tell him you visited
Hazelmere. A cut scene follows.
Talk to Brimstail again and go into the next room to the west.
Try to repair the machine.
5. Head to the evergreen trees just north of Falador.
Use a knife on an evergreen tree there to get a bucket of sap.
Next use a pestle and mortar with a mud rune then use the ground
mud rune with the bucket of sap to get magic glue.
6. Go back to the machine in Brimtail's cave and repair it with
the magic glue, an oak log and a maple log.
 Talk
to Brimstail again to get 2 more crystal shapes.
7. To solve the following puzzles you need to know the value of
your shapes. Each colour has these values:
red = 1
orange = 2
yellow = 3
green = 4
blue = 5
purple = 6
violet = 7
You then work out the value of the disc by multiplying its
colour value by the number of sides it has.
so a green triangle = 12 because:
4 (green colour value) X 3 (number of sides to a triangle) = 12
8. "unlock" the machine and you will get a random number. You
must now put in a shape that is equal to that number.
If you don't have the right value then use the shapes you have
with the exchanger until you do. Use the right value shapes with
the machine then press the green button to unlock it.
9. "operate" the machine and you get another puzzle. You must
use a combination of shapes to add up to the green number values
on the right.
When you get a shape you need, be careful not to use it with the
exchanger or it may take some time to get another one. You can
talk to Brimstail to get more crystal shapes if you need to.
Some patience is required to solve this puzzle so take your
time.
10. After you've solved it, go and talk to Brimstail. You must
now kill the 6 evil creature spies.
The first is in the room with Brimstail. The rest are at these
locations:
Entrance to the Gnome Stronghold
Spirit tree
Tortoise pen to the north west
Base of the Grand Tree
Top of the Grand Tree
When you've killed all 6, talk to king Bolren and its quest
complete!
Reward: 12,000 magic XP, 2500
woodcutting XP, 6000 runecrafting XP 250 construction XP and a
mysterious crystal seed.
QP reward: 2
Note: After completing the quest, take the crystal seed into
Brimtails cave and use it with the singing bowl to get a cystal
saw. When using this saw, your construction level is increased
by 3! When it returns to a seed again you can bring it back to
the singing bowl to convert it back into a saw.
