Q & A
1. How long have you been making Videos on Youtube?
February 02, 2007, was my first video. So I have been
making videos for one year.
2. What was it that got you interested in video making in the first place?
Well while playing RS, I was always asked how I got to
200mil. So I did a video on the hunting path I took . RS did not seem to have
real history, just the make believe kind. What if we recorded what really happen
for all those that cannot be on during events? What if we create memories like
we do in real life? How fun it could be if we did video for each other?
3. What Software do you mainly use to make your videos?
Basic Windows Movie maker, Paint, Microsoft office. Music
is my muse to the ideas. I buy all my own music.
4. Do you ever get the feeling that video making is really cutting into your
runescape playing time and if so what do you think about it?
It almost cut into my runescape playing time because I got
a rash of people asking "take a video of my party" and make it funny. That is
not fun for me.
5. Runescape video
making has changed a lot over the last year. What kind of changes in Runescape
video making do you expect to see in the next?
I expect to see videos play off each other in a ludic
mannor. All most like video sparring. I did it in one scene with Theunforgiving.
He put a song on his ranging with chins. I put a snippet of the song as I walked
through a room on sams video and mentioned Theunforgiving name.
Do we vanish too without a trace?
As you can see the type of video has changed already (no room for gamers). The
"game" word has turned to "entertainment" because we are a minority in Youtube.
So we need to step up and video the games we like. So hold our game community
together with friends list, and subscribers, it is our strongest weapons.
We may be over run by videos that will become only a money making blitz.
6. If there was one thing you could have done differently over your Video making
career on Youtube, What would that be?
I did not set out to make a video career, I did what was
fun with my friends.
7. Whats the longest amount of time you ever spent making one video.
1 month for the 200 mil hunter video. Only because my muse
(my heart) was on strike. Could not find songs, did not know what to cut, the
files where too big and I did not like doing a video on me. Two weeks is average
time for me.
8. Getting your videos out there is very hard now with so many video makers on
Youtube. What kind of advice would you offer to new video makers who are
struggling to find exposure they deserve.
I see videos with a lot of time and effort put in to them.
Sometimes it is something that I would ask, "How did they do that?" I applauded
those that are able to be so creative.
Report the news in RS with video the best you can. Comments key when watching. I
always see more views than comments. Sorry, I do not watch videos with racist,
vulgar words. I feel the uneducated use them and offensive to me. Videos can be
done without them. Don't steal young peoples innocence. The "they know" thinking
to justify rude behaviour is absurd. Let others grow up at their own pace.
Challenge your self to a higher standard. Try to make a video without sex or
violence. College video classes do it all the time. You will be surprised at
what you can come up with.
I know all would like to see our videos sore with all the honours. It is getting
harder to do because we need higher volume of comments to get the numbers higher
than the other non game videos. We are competing with money making videos and
contests. Makes your task even more daunting. Some of the videos I thought were
good did not fly. A lot of you have some various talents that go unrecorded,
make a video (it makes you practice vigorous, lol)
First the video would have to be fun to do. If you can get excited about it, you
do better. Love what you do! Do your best with what clips you can get. Try not
to rush if there is not a time limit. Sometimes just making the video has its
own value to you or a friend. Save your work on disk, you may do a remake with
better ideas and or technology.
Tricking people to see your video does not work, the word gets around.
Then people stop watching. I do believe if you would like to work at getting
recognized the unforgiving has some very good tips.
9. What other things are you interested in apart from Runescape and video
making?
Physiological psychology, computers, think tanks. Love the
ocean, to dance, ski, bike, drawing and soccer. Making a list of things I want
to do in my life and reaching them. Seek out and finding new technology to
explore. Love to find the old ways of doing things, like building my own
computer, refurbishing and donating, cooking (none of the pre-packaged stuff).
Help others like doing taxes for the elderly, making math fun for others, and
plan fun times with my friends.
10. What other MMO's do you play apart from Runescape?
None -.-
